“Her knowledge, experience, care & support helped us and our family get through this time”
At the time my wife was diagnosed, she contacted our Doula (name removed) to assist us with planning and working our way through this journey. Sifting through myriads of options & decisions to be made was much easier having someone there who could explain things simply. All through the progression of Annie's illness, our Doula was there either in person or at the end of a phone, as a sounding board and reference point for information, support (to us both), resources, help, etc. Our Doula came and stayed with us as Annie was approaching her final stages of life and guided & supported us both in this challenging time. Her knowledge, experience, care & support helped us and our family get through this time. Her practical help with basic care, on top of emotional advice and support, helped take much of that load, freeing us up to be with Annie at the end of her life. I had no appreciation before this all began what a difference this companion support could make. It is a unique type of support that should be accessible to anyone dealing with their own death or that of someone close.
